An evening wear collection inspired by my sister. I chose the name Gertrude because it's my nickname for my younger sister but it also is a Germanic name meaning "spear" and strength. I wanted to create a collection that encapsulated both my sister's style, my style, and love we share for each other. The collection is inspired by German folklore and the color palette is based on opposition. I love the idea of combining opposites such as light and dark colors, opaque and sheer fabrics, and heavy and light fabrics.
